What needs attention today?

This is for days when even ordinary tasks feel like too much.

First: the important checks

Food: Have I eaten anything today?

Water: Have I had enough to drink?

Medication: Is there anything prescribed that I need to take or arrange a refill for?

Hygiene: Is there one useful thing I can manage?

Health: Is there pain, illness or an overdue concern that needs attention?

Safety: Is there anything in my surroundings that needs urgent attention?

Next: choose what is possible

If this feels too difficultA smaller possible step
Cooking a full mealEat something simple, available and safe
A complete bathing routineWash the areas that need attention
Doing all the laundryFind one clean outfit
Sorting out every appointmentContact one clinic or healthcare provider
Cleaning the whole houseClear one necessary surface or walkway

When money or access is the problem

Ask yourself:

  • Is there a public healthcare service I can contact?
  • Can somebody help me find accurate information?
  • Do I need assistance with transport or arranging an appointment?
  • Is there a trusted person who can help with food or another immediate need?

Do not treat a lack of resources as a personal failure.

A message you can use

"I'm having a hard time keeping up with some basic things. Could you help me with one of them? I don't need a lecture. I need a little practical help."

Please don't postpone urgent care

If you have severe or worsening symptoms, signs of serious illness, significant dehydration or difficulty safely managing essential medication, seek appropriate medical assistance.

One useful thing today is enough to begin. It does not have to be the last thing you do.

A note about these resources
