START WHERE YOU ARE
Mi Miss Somebody
Grief, loss and complicated goodbyes.Missing somebody can change the shape of an ordinary day without warning.
There is no fixed timetable for grief, and there is no one correct way to carry a person who is no longer here.
Sometimes this may look like
- A date, song, smell or place bringing the loss close again
- Wanting to talk about the person when everybody else has gone quiet
- Feeling numb one day and overwhelmed another
- Laughing at a memory and crying soon after
Small next steps
- Tell somebody that today is a grief-heavy day.
- Choose company or quiet based on what you need, not what looks respectable.
- Give the memory somewhere to exist through a photograph, food, music, prayer or a written note.
- Attend to one physical need such as water, food, rest or fresh air.
