REFLECTION

A Grief Check-In

Grief has no fixed timetable. Use these questions to notice what today is asking from you.
01

Ask gently

  • What feels hardest about today?
  • Is there something or somebody I am missing more than usual?
  • Do I need company, quiet, food, rest, movement, prayer, tears or distraction?
  • Is there somebody I can tell that today is a grief-heavy day?
02

Let the answer be ordinary

You do not have to produce a deep insight. “Mi miss dem,” “today rough,” or “I need somebody near” may be enough.

03

Choose one form of care

Pick one need you can respond to now. A glass of water, a familiar meal, ten quiet minutes, one phone call or permission to cry all count.

BEFORE YUH GO

A difficult grief day does not mean you have gone backwards. It means the loss feels close today.
